First Aid in the Workplace is a legal requirement. The legislation is set out and governed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The law covering First Aid is The Health and Safety (first Aid) at Work Act of 1981, and the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L74) suggests employers should make adequate and appropriate First Aid Provision for their workforce.

It is recommended that someone is able to undertake First Aid duties at all times when people are at work. Each workplace has a different first aid requirement to the next, this requirment ranges from Appointed Persons to Qualified HSE First Aid at Work persons.

The HSE have set guidelines, which to some persons, can be difficult to understand. If you require any advice regarding the level of First Aid cover you require please contact us and we can discuss your needs.

This has recently changed, therefore we are advising all our customers, to review the latest requirements on the HSE website, www.hse.gov.uk
